The Role

Our team is growing in capability and capacity, leading to an immediate need for an enthusiastic, passionate and hands-on person to take on the role of UAS Avionics Engineer.

In this position, you will take ownership of avionics and electrical systems that bring our aircraft to life. This includes control, communication, navigation, and power distribution systems.

What you will do:

  • Own key elements of the aircraft avionics systems – electrical systems, navigation, and communication systems.
  • Define electrical and avionics requirements, architectures, and interfaces.
  • Lead system integration, hardware-in-the-loop, and flight test instruments.
  • Design and develop aircraft electric systems and ground control hardware and software.
  • Work with suppliers to select and qualify avionics hardware; manage trade-offs.
  • Support flight test activities, including system preparation, instrumentation, telemetry setup, and post-flight data analysis.

About you:

  • 3+ years’ experience developing avionics systems.
  • Degree in aerospace/electrical engineering (bachelor’s or master’s)
  • Solid understanding of UAS avionics and integration flight controllers, GNSS/INS, telemetry, data links, with knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., CAN, UART, etc.)
  • Experience developing embedded software or middleware on RTOS platforms.
  • Experience in PCB/electrical design for avionics subsystems.
  • Knowledge of RF systems, telemetry links, and redundancy concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving, independent thinking, and clear technical communication.
  • Passionate about taking on technical challenges and pushing into unknowns.

Nice to have:

  • Experienced with Pixhawk and open-source flight controllers (e.g., PX4, ArduPilot) and ground control systems.
  • Familiarity with simulation frameworks and HIL environments.
  • Exposure to safety, certification, and BVLOS requirements.

AIRCRAFT DESIGN ENGINEER

Kevalya is an innovative aerospace engineer passionate about unmanned aerial systems, and sustainable civil aviation. He holds a Master’s in Aerospace Vehicle Design from Cranfield University and a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where he gained experience in UAV design and aerodynamic analysis. Kevalya has over two years of experience at NewSpace Research and Technologies (Bengaluru, India), contributing to UAV design, testing, and AI integration for swarm drone operations. He played a key role in the first tandem wing UAV in India. With experience in aircraft design, structural analysis, aerodynamics, and flight testing, Kevalya brings valuable skills in cutting-edge aerospace projects involving unmanned systems and sustainable aviation.
